The only reason I wear pantyhose after age 40 is as a fashion statement. I can always feel my legs and it makes me feel good. Pantyhose are a psychological aid. Comfort is important to me and wearing them makes me feel more comfortable. I never plan or decide ahead of time to wear pantyhose. I choose to wear only one color so my legs don't look too dark or light. I'm not sure what it is, but when I wear pantyhose, everyone notices and gives me compliments. I'm not fond of wearing everything in black or white. I really like my legs but I like to show off the tan that has started to develop. Of course, one can never have too many pairs of pantyhose! Then, they just stay there when you don't need them anymore.

They are simply to me...a fashion statement and since I feel so good after I put them on and they give so much support, the added benefit is that they are a statement and I like to make statements when I'm dressed.

When I try on pantyhose, I'd consider at least a dozen different color combinations. My choices are based not only on comfort and fit, but also on how I'll wear them. I've gone in phases through my life where I wore pantyhose regularly, then wore pantyhose less often as I got older and slightly roughed up my legs. And now, as I'm in my 40's, I'm back to wearing pantyhose about every other weekend.
